Stonehenge

Stonehenge in Wiltshire, England was constructed in phases between 3100 BC and 1600 BC. It was built by successive groups of Neolithic people in Britain. The mystery in this is how they transported the giant stones and the purpose behind it. Stonehenge started as a burial site with the stones added in a later phase. Some of the stones seem to have come from a pretty far distance and recent studies show that they were brought over by humans it’s likely they were brought over by old primitive technology. As for the purpose behind it there are a few theories some of which include it being a ritual center or a calendar of sorts, a burial ground, or a symbol of unification. Because the stones came from a distance this helps support the theory that it was a collaborative effort and used as a monument of unification.
